Half a million?

It’s been a big week for streaming favourite Netflix. Not only did they announce a new, minimalist logo; they also announced a price increase, from £5.99 to £7.49 per month in the UK. And whilst there are ways to get around this price hike, such as downgrading to the ‘basic’ package, Netflix still stands to lose 500,000 customers.

Given that Netflix has become part of our daily lives, with ‘binge-watching’ now the norm, I can understand anger at the price increase. But still, we’re only talking about a £1.50 increase, and that’s less than a cup of coffee. For the wealth and variety of content Netflix offers, it astounds me that so many are prepared to jump ship!
